今年(114)年4月，駐帛琉共和國大使館向衛福部傳達急需外科手術電燒設備一台，衛生福利部「醫療器材援助平台計畫」（GMISS）緊急啟動，提供外科手術電燒設備予帛琉國家醫院（Belau National Hospital）。

因該院電燒刀故障急需更新，否則影響既定手術，刻不容緩。GMISS團隊緊急檢測、整備設備及添購耗材並交付，即時解決醫院需求，盼透過醫療器材捐贈及醫工人員經驗交流嘉惠當地患者。

In April 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Palau conveyed an urgent request to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for a surgical electrocautery unit. In response, the Ministry's Global Medical Instrument Support and Service Program (GMISS) swiftly mobilized to provide the necessary equipment to Belau National Hospital.

The hospital's existing electrocautery device had malfunctioned, posing a critical risk of disrupting scheduled surgeries. Recognizing the urgency, the GMISS team conducted immediate testing, prepared the replacement unit, procured essential consumables, and delivered the equipment without delay.

This timely donation not only resolved the hospital's pressing needs but also ensured uninterrupted surgical services for patients. Through the provision of medical equipment and the exchange of biomedical expertise, Taiwan reaffirms its commitment to strengthening healthcare capacity in Palau and to fostering a resilient partnership that benefits local communities.
