112年衣索比亞衛生部薦送Dr. Kirubel Abebe Kebede與Dr. Henok Teshome Ayele來台，在本部臺灣國際醫療衛生人員訓練中心計畫（TIHTC）協助下，至國內醫學中心與教學醫院進行微創外科觀摩與見習，分別完成為期一年與半年的訓練課程。

兩位醫師返國後，不僅順利通過外科次專科測驗，更在衣索比亞成立了當地首支腹腔鏡手術團隊，將於臺灣所學的技術付諸實踐。其中，Dr. Henok 更於113年升任 St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College 外科部主任。他們透過院內培訓及示範手術，將所學技術傳承給更多醫療人員，有效提升當地外科技術與病患照護品質。

此合作成果展現臺灣在國際醫療教育領域的深耕，並證明臺灣在推動全球健康發展方面的主動貢獻。

In 2023, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health recommended Dr. Kirubel Abebe Kebede and Dr. Henok Teshome Ayele to participate in the Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center Program (TIHTC). With the support of TIHTC, both physicians undertook clinical observation and training in minimally invasive surgery at Taiwan's leading medical centers and teaching hospitals, completing one-year and six-month programs respectively.

Upon returning to Ethiopia, the two doctors successfully passed subspecialty examinations in surgery and went on to establish the country's first laparoscopic surgery team, applying the advanced techniques acquired in Taiwan. Notably, in 2024, Dr. Henok was appointed Director of the Department of Surgery at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Medical College. Through in-hospital training and demonstration surgeries, both physicians have shared their expertise with colleagues, significantly improving surgical standards and patient care in Ethiopia.

This milestone highlights Taiwan's long-term commitment to international medical education and demonstrates its proactive contribution to advancing global health development.
