長短期治療成效評值：以中醫哮證（即西醫氣喘）接受中醫治療後之生活品質變化為例

哮證就是西醫認定的氣喘。其常發生於國內兒童與成人身上。國人經常選擇中醫來治療此一病症。目前尚無針對此療法而分析其具體療效之報告。因此，本研究以此類接受中醫治療之哮證病患（含兒童與成人）為對象，藉為期七個月的定期追蹤訪談，了解哮證病患接受中醫治療後的療效並分析其影響因素。研究者在樣本願意參與後，以問卷與訪談方式依序收集其於哮證急性期與緩解期間的生活品質，症狀困擾，與對中醫治療的主觀感受等變化狀況，來進一步分析研究樣本接受中醫治療後之具體療效。寄望能藉由此結果具體說明中醫之療效並建立一評估中醫療效的臨床模式，進而推廣之。

Long (short)-term outcome measures: the changed-patterns of quality of life of Xiao (asthma) patients after receiving the Chinese medicine.

the diagnosis of asthma in western medicine. It occurs both in the children and the adults. The Taiwanese usually select Chinese medicine as way of treatment, however, no specific report discuss the effectiveness of Chinese medicine on this special disease yet. Therefore, present study selects the Xiao patients (both the child and adult) as samples and follows with their treatment effects up to 7 months. When the samples agree to participate into this prospective follow-up study, their responses towards treatment will be regularly collected by questionnaires that include the variables such as quality of life, symptom distress, and subjective perception of the effectiveness of Chinese medicine. From the changed patterns of these variables, the researchers plan to identify the treatment outcomes of Chinese medicine and build up a clinical model to verify the effectiveness of Chinese medicine.
