中藥對狼瘡性腎炎之療效

儘管全身性紅斑性狼瘡患者的存活率近來已有明顯的上升，但毫無疑問，狼瘡性腎炎仍然伴隨著高罹病率及高死亡率，且與全身性紅斑性狼瘡的預後息息相關。 
以免疫抑制劑或大量類固醇治療狼瘡性腎炎已成為模式，但繼發而來的副作用，卻在臨床上造成極大困擾。

雷公藤、漢防己甲素在先前實驗中已証明可明顯抑制第一、六、八介白質，及免疫球蛋白產生，而前者更可抑制前列腺素製造。目前已知狼瘡性腎炎的產生與細胞間素關係密切，本實驗中除將再採用該兩種藥物做研究主要題材，並將加入白刺杏、白粗糠、水丁香、咸豐草、紅色見笑根、黑乃爾等常用治療腎臟疾患的中藥，與靈芝、冬蟲夏草等一併研究。

本實驗將使用兩型狼瘡性腎炎的老鼠模型，即NZB/WF1及MRL-/lpr/lpr。經餵以混合或不含中藥的食物後，追蹤其每周體重變化，同時收集其尿液、血液（眼窩後採血），冰凍存放，以為進一步分析。

尿蛋白將分別以酵素免疫分析法及Hema-Combistix strip測定，腎功能包括血尿素氮及肌酸，分別以Urease assay kit，及Colormetry測定，同時最後再取出老鼠腎組織，以觀察其病理組織變化，及第一介白質在腎組織上的基因表現。

此實驗並將同時以類固醇及cyclophosphamide為對照組。與中藥分別或加成使用，以測試中藥的單獨效果或做為佐劑的可能性。

鑑於已有相當紅斑性狼瘡患者使用雷公藤等中藥自我醫療，這方面的研究將提供患者正確知識，並為中醫藥研究深入基礎，走入臨床奠下根基。

Herbal Medicine Effects on Lupus Nephritis

Nephritis has long been considered one of the most ominous components of systemic lupus erythematosus. The availability of inbred mice that spontaneously develop a disease similar to systemic lupus erythematosus in humans has facilitated numerous studies of the immunopathogenesis of this clinically important entity. Some traditional Chinese herbal medicines have been reported to be effective in immunoregulation. The purpose of this study will be to assess the effect of these herbal medicines on the preservation of renal function in mice with lupus glomerulonephritis. NZB/WF1 and MRL-lpr/lpr mice will be randomized to receive those medicines which include Pai Tzu Hsing, Pai Tsu Kang, Shui Ting Hsiang, Hsien Feng Tsao, Chien Hsiao Ken(red), Hai Nai Erh, Tripterygium Wilfordii Hook f (TWHf), and Tetrandrine in serial diluted concentrations.
