蘇木之殺精機轉研究:中藥可能有害生育的副作用機轉分析

本計劃藉由常用中藥蘇木(Caesalpinia sappan)來做動物實驗,研究其殺精機轉。實驗中我們分別以口服餵食、睪丸內注射進行兔子的動物實驗;並以(1)兔子精液分析(2)睪丸切片(3)荷爾蒙變化(4)睪丸內核蛋白電泳分析(5)全身的毒性,來瞭解蘇木的殺精機轉。從這個研究,我們想? 敦Q: 
1.一般中藥體外殺精劑如蘇木是如何殺死精蟲,這種機轉是否成為人體的副作用,將來中藥使用時是否必須監視或調整藥量。 
2.中藥體外殺精劑口服後對精蟲有何相關影響。 
3.這些中藥是否能開發為男性避孕藥。

In an previous in-vitro study, Caesalpinia sappan had been found as the most potent spermicidal in 50 kinds of Chinese herbs. For the further investigation of the spermicidal mechanism of Caesalpinia sappan, we are going to perform the animal experiment with feeding and intratesticular assay on the adult rabbit. The present study can evaluate (1)semen character (2)hormonal change (3)testicular biopsy (4)testicular protein electrophoresis (5)existed generalized toxicity of the rabbit after taken Caesalpinia sappan.

Through this study, we expect to establish an animal model for the development of male contraceptive agent using Chinese herb. It is including the following functions: 

1.Be a monitoring system, to detect any toxic, generalized side effect of an efficient spermicidal in vitro. 
2.Provide the information of any permanent damage of testis or spermatogenesis. 
3.may suggest a hormonal change for the clinical trial of male contraceptives to avoid any adverse reaction.
