「臺灣國際醫衛行動團隊」之設立，旨在藉由有效整合政府各部門及民間資源與力量，發揮單一窗口之功能。除因應全球化之挑戰，並契合國人發揮無疆界醫療之熱切期盼外，更期為臺灣之國際醫療援外開闢廣闊新天地，為追求世界衛生組織(WHO)憲章所揭櫫「享受可能獲致之最高健康標準為人類基本權利，不因種族、宗教、政治信仰、經濟及社會條件而有區別」等理念與理想，共盡心力。

未來更盼藉由此一平台之運作，與全球對等機構及專家社群接軌與合作，從而發揮相加相乘之效果，全面深入參與國際醫療衛生及人道救援工作，藉資彰顯臺灣回饋國際社會之熱忱，期盼國際社會能認同臺灣在全球醫療公衛體系之貢獻，進而更鼓舞臺灣奉獻國際社會之巨量動能，俾利共同致力增進臺灣及全球人民最高之健康權利與福祉。

TaiwanIHA effectively pulls together the resources and manpower of various departments into one smoothly functioning organization that can respond to the challenge of globalization and that can aim for medical care without borders. TaiwanIHA is expected to create a new world of opportunity for Taiwan to send medical aid overseas in pursuit of the goal upheld by the WHO Constitution: The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without the distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic and social conditions.

It is hoped that TaiwanIHA can connect and cooperate with its counterparts, and other expert communities, to participate with optimal effect in international medical and health aid projects to demonstrate Taiwans passion for giving back to the international community. It is our hope that the international community will recognize Taiwans contributions to the worlds medical and public health systems, and will encourage Taiwan to further contribute to the goal of attaining the highest health rights and welfare of all mankind, including Taiwan.
